Important - Please verify that the engine serial number and ECU/EMM serial number exactly match those provided on the "Go" disk label or the E-mail provided with your downloaded copy. If the numbers do not match, the software will fail to perform the upgrade.
Attach the communication cable from the PC which will be used to perform the update to the diagnostic connector port on the outboard motor.
Power up the ECU/EMM by turning the vehicle key to the "on" or "run" position. The engine fuel pump should run for approximately 10 seconds, indicating power up of the controller.
Start your PC. At the DOS prompt, type "a:/go" (without the quote marks).
The update software will establish communication with the controller. Next, it will extract the current version of software from the ECU/EMM and store it to the floppy disk. Finally, the updated version will be downloaded to the ECU/EMM.
When instructed, you may remove the floppy disk from the "A" drive and disconnect the PC from the outboard motor. Installation of the update is complete.
Utilizing your customary E mail software, open the E mail from DFI Technologies and print a copy or make note of the engine and ECU/EMM serial number provided in the body of the E mail.
Download the attached file which will be titled go.exe. This file is in a self extracting format.
Insert a blank 3 1/2" floppy disk into the PC "A" drive. Double click the downloaded file go.exe. It will automatically extract with a default path of a:/. Please select this default and allow the software to be installed on your blank floppy disk.
